Do you usually say, “I’m going to the toilet” in English?

Although saying this can be correct in some contexts, it can be overly direct or even rude–especially in American English.

22 expressions with “Toilet” in English
The following toilet related vocabulary and expressions are sorted from the most polite, to the rudest and most vulgar.
下面这类关于卫生间的词语和表达办法依据其礼貌和粗俗程度分类。
Formal正式体
The following are appropriate in any situation:
下面是任何场所都适合的使用方法:
Bathroom
–Example: I’m gonna [going to] go to the bathroom.
例子:我要上厕所。
Restroom
–Example: Where is the restroom?
例子:洗手间在什么地方?
Little boy’s/girl’s room
–Example: I’ll be right back, I need to use the little girl’s room.
例子:我立刻回来,我要用下洗手间。
Powder my nose
–Example: Excuse me, I need to powder my nose.
例子:不好意思,我要去趟盥洗室。
Familiar熟人之间使用方法
The following are appropriate with family or friends:
下面为跟朋友或家人在一块时使用方法:
Pee
|Example: Where’ the bathroom? I need to pee.
例子:洗手间在哪?我想小便。
Tinkle
|Example: I drank too much water! I have to go tinkle.
例子:我水喝太多了!我得去小个便。
Go
|Example: Where’s the bathroom, I really have to go!

Potty

Take a leak
–Example: He has to take a leak, where’s your bathroom?

Pee oneself 尿裤子
Example: I’m about to pee myself, let’s go home.

Can
Example: Do you mind telling me where’s the can?

Vulgar粗俗
The following should only be used with close friends, if ever. Also remember that it is more common for men to use these expressions than women.

Shit
Example: Man, where’s the can, I need to go shit.

Dump
Example: He went to take a dump.
例子:他去拉大便了。
Shitter
Example: I’ve gotta [got to] use your shitter.
例子:我要用下你马桶。
Piss
Example: We drank a lot of beer and now we all have to piss.
例子:大家酒喝多了,目前要去小便。
Pisser
Example: Mind if I use your pisser?
例子:不在意我用下你卫生间吧?
Piss oneself 尿裤子
In Conclusion.Having a rich vocabulary is important, especially if you want to sound like a native. However, it’s perhaps even more important to know when to appropriately use these phrases, and not to sound rude in a second language.
